Gal Beckerman’s article parallels my line of thought exactly. Perverts have always existed…now they just take a picture with their phone while they’re at it. Brutes and violent people have always started fights…only now they’re being caught on camera phone.
Many people have pictures of pets on their phones. Should we then argue that because so many pets are appearring on phones, we are influencing the pet population? Some things co-exist without being causally related.
