I love when this author points out that many professors have their lectures at Itunes and that they can be downloaded and treated as homework to view…especially so that class can center around discussion and application. I think this would be the ideal way to treat lectures, and maximize the gathering of people for interaction instead of mass note-taking.
Interesting point. I’d like to talk about podcasting as one of the techniques teachers could use tomorrow in class.

I totally agree. I think class time should be used for meaningful discussions or groupwork. There seems to be nothing productive about going to class and taking notes that most often come straight from the textbook, and you could have just taken the notes on your own without ever showing up to class. Can’t wait to take a class where my professor has on the syllabus that lectures can be downloaded to my iPod.

Yes, I also wrote something like this in my comment about it. There should be lots of meaningful discussions and groupwork. This would not only encourage students but also help them to improve their learning and teaching skills.
