“The Secret World of Lonely Girl” is hilarious! I must admit that after reviewing the blogs, I thought that Bre was a real person! I must admit that I actually felt sad for her because it seemed as if her life was going downhill. As for Flinders, I commend him on his successful act of being recognized by the film industry. You tube is definitely a way to draw attention to yourself through posting videos that will attract a large audience. I think that the story of Bre attracted so many viewers because the problems she discussed are realistic and emotional.
While watching the video I began to sympathize with Bre and her situation with Daniel. After reading the article, I must admit that she’s a really good actress! I believed her….this is a excellent marketing tactic!
When it comes to discovering Bre’s true identity…it really isn’t important! When I watch the soap operas I don’t sit and try to discover the true identity of the characters!
Tmitchell01,
These young writers are quite talented. Their scripts definitely have sensory appeal. It is easy to understand their huge audience of viewers/hits. Yes, this is realistic fiction.
In addition, the writers, and the characters take their work on this project quite seriously and care about its appeal to their audiences.

The writers made me think of other areas where reality may be an illusion – reality televison shows and sensational journalism. Millions of people watch these broacasts daily and confess to being addicted to the “scripted” real life of another person. The “Lonely Girl” video shows how people can take “reality” to the next level.
